Beca appoints new General Manager for Transport & Infrastructure, New Zealand

Beca has appointed Andrea Rickard as General Manager for its New Zealand Transport & Infrastructure business.

Andrea is already a senior leader at Beca and, over a career spanning more than 20 years, has predominantly worked in the planning, assessment and development of major infrastructure and urban growth and transformation projects across New Zealand.

Andrea said, “We know what an important role infrastructure plays in the future of our communities. It feels purposeful being part of creating the future form and function of our cities and our regions in partnership with our clients. I love that it is all about people, and helping people see that change is about realising a vision for the future.  I am excited to be taking on this role now when new thinking and new technologies offer great opportunities for New Zealand.”

Andrea has been with Beca for over 10 years and has a deep understanding of what is needed to deliver outstanding projects. A critical ingredient is our people, she said.  “I am committed to providing our teams with opportunities to learn new skills, and to make a positive impact on our communities and our environment. I am constantly astonished to learn about the range of challenges we solve alongside our clients, and how we shape and influence people’s lives with our work.”

Andrea is a member of the firm’s Delivery Leadership Team, and Beca’s Urban Transformation Auckland steering group which seeks to deliver integrated and creative outcomes to address the challenges of rapid growth.  Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Planning (honours) from the University of Auckland.

In Australia, Beca has appointed Rachel Fowler as General Manager for its Transport & Infrastructure business.
