Beca was honoured to be recognised as ‘Estate and Infrastructure Business of the Year’ at last night’s 2021 Australian Defence Industry Awards.
Held at ICC Sydney and hosted by premier industry publication Defence Connect in partnership with KBR Partners, for an audience of prominent Australian Defence Force (ADF) officials and broader Defence industry figures, Beca won the ‘Estate and Infrastructure Business of the Year’ category.
This award recognises our long-standing partnership with the Department of Defence’s Security and Estate Group (‘Defence Estate’) which dates back to 2010. Beginning with our pre-eminent Defence airfield pavement and aeronautical ground lighting capability, this relationship has since developed into a true total lifecycle offer, where we provide services across inception/feasibility, major works delivery, annual maintenance, asset management and strategic advice.
Major projects we’ve delivered as part of our 11-year relationship include servicing all 28 major Defence airfields via our P1005 National Airfields Program, 75 main Defence establishments via the Estate Data Improvement, EMOS Assurance and the Technical Estate Appraisal Programs.
We were also finalists for the following five categories:
- Consultancy of the Year – Beca
- Naval Business of the Year – Beca
- Consultant of the Year – Alby Lombard
- Innovator of the Year – Stephen Witherden
- Rising Star of the Year – Zac Clinton
On reflecting upon our impressive new accolade, David Barter, Beca Business Director – Defence & National Security said "Winning this award is an absolute honour for Beca and validates the sustained work we have put into developing a best in class Defence Estate and Infrastructure business, that supports the full capability lifecycle. It also demonstrates our partnership with Defence, supporting the capability that defends our nation and proving that we really do ‘make everyday better".
The Australian Defence Industry Awards were created in 2020 to reflect the comprehensive role the defence industry plays as a fundamental input into Australia’s strategic capability. The awards are open to all businesses operating in Australia who support the defence supply chain and have become a coveted accolade for organisations and professionals seeking to forge their role in the defence industry.
Beca would also like to extend our congratulations to all the other 2021 award winners and finalists.
