As a gold member of Intelligent Transport Systems New Zealand (ITS NZ), we are excited to be part of T-Tech 21, taking place in Wellington on 23-24 June.
T-Tech is New Zealand's leading forum for discussing intelligent and future transport systems and challenges, innovations and solutions for helping make transport safer, greener and more efficient.
With key themes of safety, equity and sustainability, the two-day T-Tech 21 conference features more than 40 speakers and leaders from New Zealand and overseas.
Hon. Michael Wood, Minister of Transport, will be delivering the opening address, with Dr Michelle Dickinson, otherwise known as Nanogirl, the MC and another keynote speaker. Our own Stephen Hewett, in his role as president of ITS NZ, will be opening the conference and introducing the Minister.
Among a fantastic line up of guest speakers, there will be representatives from the Ministry of Transport, Waka Kotahi, KiwiRail, Kāinga Ora, Auckland Transport, Auckland Council and Wellington City Council. We also have five speakers of our own, on a range of topics:
-
Luke Fitzpatrick, Transport Engineer, will be presenting on the Talanoa Project, and the potential for improving community equity with AI.
-
Matt Ensor, Business Director - Advisory, will be discussing what’s involved and how to go about forecasting the impact of mode shift to e-bikes and e-scooters
-
Ayesha Weerappulige, Transport Engineer, will be diving into the world of autonomous vehicles and social equity
-
Robert Boucher, Digital Consultant, will be speaking on the work to prevent wrong way drivers
-
Sam Turner, Senior Associate – Sustainability and Environmental Management, will be co-presenting with Doug Wilson from the University of Auckland on green infrastructure.
“This is ITS NZ’s third T-Tech conference, with a great line up of both international and local speakers presenting on transport technology over two days. As the President of ITS NZ I am proud of the knowledge sharing events and opportunities our team has delivered over the last year and I look forward to even more networking and knowledge sharing, in-person and online, at T-Tech 2021” says Stephen Hewett, President of ITS NZ, and Business Director – Transport Advisor at Beca.
