Beca is proud to be announced as one of two Asia-Pacific Silver Sponsors for Women in BIM, to help grow career opportunities for female BIM and Digital construction professionals across the region.
Founded in 2012, Women in BIM (WIB) is a diverse network of female professionals within the engineering and construction industry dedicated to supporting women in BIM (Building Information Modelling) and digital engineering related roles to improve their skills, education and career opportunities. As one of just two silver sponsors in the Asia Pacific region, and the only sponsoring organisation headquartered in New Zealand, Beca’s partnership with Women in BIM will see them host a range of exciting initiatives, including speaking at and supporting local events in Asia, Australia and New Zealand. They’ll also continue their existing involvement in the WIB mentor programme.
In commenting on this exciting development, Beca’s Partnership Lead Emma Mannion (Manager – Digital Engineering Advisory), a BIM-certified individual herself said, “I am proud to be a 2022 WIB Mentor and have seen the impact that WIB is making on a global scale by creating an international network of likeminded women, and bringing these incredible people together to support, grow and inspire one another."
Her sentiments were echoed by WIB founder Rebecca De Cicco who says, “Women in BIM are pleased to welcome Beca to the family of organisations supporting our initiative. As the first New Zealand-based organisation, this is a fantastic opportunity for WIB to grow our community and followers in this region.”
“Beca’s support recognises how diversity, inclusion and the digital built environment are closely linked, and I am personally pleased to see this organisation come on board,” Rebecca adds,
At the core of BIM is collaboration. Where information is generated and shared with the right stakeholders, at the right time, to make informed decisions regarding the management of built assets. With collaboration at the heart of Women in BIM, Beca’s involvement will help connect talented women to share ideas and knowledge in a way that’s sure to benefit the engineering profession.
