Beca is proud to announce that Emma Mannion, Manager - Digital Engineering Advisory from our Auckland team won the New Zealand Institute of Building (NZIOB) BCITO Young Achiever of the Year award.
The NZIOB announced the winners of the 2022 New Zealand Building Industry Awards on Friday, 2 September at a gala evening at the Cordis Hotel, Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland.“It’s an honour to be recognised by NZIOB as the 2022 Young Achiever for the hard work and dedication I have put into growing this emerging service. It is a recognition of not only my hard work, but the hard work of many others who are striving to make Digital Engineering BAU for construction." says Emma.
"For me personally, the award submission process was incredibly rewarding and was a fantastic opportunity to take a step back and reflect on my career to date."
Having been appointed as Manager – Digital Engineering Advisory (DEA), a newly established role, Emma has contributed significantly to both Beca’s Digital Engineering capability and the Digital Construction profession more generally during her 12-year career so far.
Upon awarding her this prestigious accolade, NZIOB Judges said Emma is leading change in the Digital Construction profession and is a role model and an emerging leader within the construction industry. Emma is also a member of the New Zealand Institute of Buildings, Property Council NZ and Women in BIM.
Her significant achievements to date include the RICS Project Management Team of the Year award, the completion of Growing Greatness: Women in Technology in 2021, and becoming an Information Management Professional certified to ISO 19650-2, the global standard for managing BIM (Building Information Modelling) data.
In the last 12 months as Team Lead and then Manager – Digital Engineering Advisory (DEA), Emma has made a huge impact on the team.
Emma enjoys working with colleagues and clients to improve project delivery and create enhanced value by harnessing the power of BIM technology. Winning this award gives her another platform to continue educating and empowering other professionals in this emerging field.
