Beca is proud to be recognised as ‘Naval Business of the Year’ for the second year in a row at the 2023 Australian Defence Industry Awards.
Hosted by Defence Connect in partnership with KBR for an audience of prominent Australian Defence Force (ADF) and Defence industry figures, Beca won the 'Naval Business of the Year' category at the black-tie dinner at National Convention Centre Canberra on Thursday 21 September.
This follows our earlier wins in 2022 for 'Naval Business of the Year', and in 2021 when we were named 'Estate and Infrastructure Business of the Year'.
Reflecting on this outstanding achievement Mick Richardson, Beca’s General Manager - Defence & National Security Australia said, "I’m proud our team’s incredible work supporting the ADF’s Maritime capability was recognised once again at this year Defence Connect Australian Defence Industry Awards. This is the second year in a row we have picked up the gong for this category. I’m very proud of my team and all the hard work they have done and continue to do everyday for the Royal Australian Navy – and so pleased their hard work is being recognised."
His words were echoed by David Barter, Business Director – Defence & National Security who added, "A great result for the team, which validates the excellent work we have performed across a range of maritime platforms and assets. Over the past decade we’ve worked hard to become a Defence centric business that provides unrivalled technical advice and tangible solutions to complex assets, across the complete capability lifecycle and the client ecosystem. Our success is also linked to our genuine collaborative approach with our partners and clients, where we have established strong partnerships to leverage expertise, resources, and capabilities."
Beca were also 2023 finalists for the following two categories:
- Consultancy of the Year
- Estate & Infrastructure Business of the Year
Major maritime projects we’re delivering in Australia span across the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), Security and Estate Group (SEG) and the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). They include professional services in project management, systems engineering, engineering operations and maintenance, integrated logistics support, data management and assurance, plus a range of other technical and advisory disciplines - all with the primary goal of enabling Australia’s critical Maritime capability so it’s ready to serve our nation when and where required.
